The Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown (RCRM) began in 1995 with 30 committed members and has since expanded to include 140 individuals. It's a part of Rot Read moreary, a global organisation that brings together professionals to provide humanitarian aid, promote ethical standards, and foster peace worldwide. RCRM has earned recognition, winning several awards from the District and Rotary International. Notably, it secured 21 Matching Grants from the Rotary Foundation in 2000-2001, setting a record. Additionally, it received two 3-H Grants to build Rotary Midtown Lapasari Dam & Rotary Midtown Vasahat for families affected by earthquakes. These initiatives demonstrate its commitment to service and community support. Situated in the historically rich region of Saurashtra, RCRM pays homage to the area's cultural heritage. The name 'Saurashtra' echoes its past as a region comprising numerous kingdoms, steeped in legends and history. Even today, the modern settlements in this picturesque area reflect the grandeur of its bygone era.

  • Disaster Response Programme

    The Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown responded swiftly to the devastation caused by the earthquake in Morvi by initially offering immediate aid, and providing shelter and food for 10 weeks to those affected. In collaboration with the Government and affected families, it reconstructed 275 homes in the formerly devastated housing board colony. Acting as a catalyst between the Government and the affected families, it played a crucial role in facilitating the reconstruction efforts, ultimately offering homes to families impacted by the disaster.

  • Rotary Midtown Dam - Lapasari Project

    It initiated the Rotary Midtown Dam - Lapasari project, a 3H Project costing $670,000, delivering social value equivalent to its cost in the first year. This project provided water facilities benefiting 100,000 slum dwellers and was lauded by TRF, being chosen as one of the top 10 projects. Recognized for its financial stewardship, it was featured in The Rotarian (June 2004 issue) and uniquely honored by the local government (RMC) as the sole NGO project.

  • Dental Clinic Programme

    The Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown manages the Rotary Midtown Dental Clinic, attending to 5000 patients annually with a range of dental specialties available. Each year, it distributes 100 dentures free of charge. This initiative operates in partnership with RC Davenport, RI Dist 6000 as its Matching Grant Partner, and collaborates with Sakarben Purshotam Sheth as its Project Partner. The Khera Boarding extends its courtesy by providing the clinic's premises for this noble cause.

The club also conducts diverse community services like cattle camps, notebook distribution, tree planting, and vocational awards.

  • Rehab Township Programme

    The Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown initiated the Rotary Midtown Rehab Township project, investing $275,000 in constructing 175 homes for destitute families affected by earthquakes. This township, located in Metoda, offers comprehensive facilities including a school, hospital, bus-stop, and essential infrastructure such as electricity, roads, drainage, and water facilities. Each family provided housing here was also offered job opportunities as part of a complete rehabilitation initiative. The school within the township ensures quality education for the children residing there, while the well-equipped clinic, supported by Rotary Club Dublin and the Apex Foundation, provides medical services including radiology, pathology, and dental care not only to the township residents but also to those within a 16 km radius.
