Programs

  • Mandal Parishad Primary School Programme

The second project of 100 SMILES, the Mandal Parishad Primary School E/M & T/M in Jajapur village, Narayanpet Mandal, Mahaboobnagar district, has begun with optimism and responsibility. The school, which has approximately 201 students, inaugurated a digital classroom in August. A motivational session was conducted in the presence of students, school staff, Mandal Educational Officer, Sarpanch, and the press. However, the school lacks a water connection for the washrooms. The issue was discussed with the Sarpanch, and assistance was offered to provide hygienic washrooms.

  • Upper Primary School Programme

    District

Independence Day marked the commencement of 100 Smiles' inaugural project at Chinnanagaram village's Upper Primary School in Nelikuduru Mandal, 180 kilometres away from Hyderabad. Key initiatives encompassed providing chairs for 130 students, conducting a SWACHH campaign, and initiating a plantation drive for aesthetic improvement. The school walls were embellished with vibrant paintings depicting national symbols, state logos, and birds. Physical activities were encouraged through the distribution of sports kits, while student committees were formed to oversee cleanliness, health, culture, and mid-day meals. Additionally, a virtual classroom facilitated direct communication between subject experts and students via video calls. Expansion into other locations followed, including Vutkur in Nidamanoor Mandal, Nalgonda, and Parvathagiri in Warangal Rural District, Telangana.

  • Zilla Parishad High School

ZPHS Cherlapalem, situated 180km from Hyderabad, has 183 students. Through research, it was discovered that these children walk around 3-5km barefoot to attend school. To tackle this issue, an unlimited internet connection was provided, and a digital classroom was set up for teaching English and computer subjects. Recently, the students had the opportunity to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's live speech on "Pariksha Par Charcha" from Delhi, facilitated by the virtual classroom setup.
