Sensing Local Foundation

Sensing Local Foundation is a Bengaluru-based "Urban Living Lab" (ULL) that aims to improve public health and the environment by serving as a hub for Read moreurban observation, learning, and innovation. As a model, it acts as a transitional phase that formalises experimentation and learning in an urban setting to accelerate impact for the majority of society. The main goal of the Living Lab is to "break through" the cycle of repetitive, disjointed, and narrow-minded behaviour by acting as a catalyst for the ecology of the city's decision-makers.

Sensing Local's vision is to disrupt the trajectory of development in Indian cities that perpetuates environmental exploitation and deepens social and economic inequalities. Their mission is to improve the state of the environment and public health in urban areas through innovative and collaborative approaches.

Sensing Local has successfully implemented projects such as the Zero Waste Wards initiative, the Ward as a Unit of Change program, and various air quality monitoring and improvement projects in cities like Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
