Over the course of the next three years, our primary focus is on ensuring that a significantly higher number of girls attend school regularly. This strategic initiative aims to address two critical issues: preventing child marriages and curbing child labor. To achieve this, we are dedicated to creating a positive and friendly environment between teachers and students. Additionally, we plan to establish residence schools, providing a conducive space for children to stay, fostering an environment that encourages regular attendance and facilitates a quality education.

In the agricultural sector, our overarching goal for the next three years is to bring about positive change for 500 farmers. We envision a 100% increase in their profitability by enhancing the value addition capacity of small millets. This holistic approach not only supports local agricultural growth but also has a ripple effect, positively impacting industrial productivity. To achieve sustainability, we are committed to the adoption of innovative farming methods, including Hydroponics and Aeroponics, reducing migration, increasing income for families, and ensuring better educational opportunities for children. The long-term vision also involves promoting agricultural exports, resolving water-related disputes, and elevating overall livelihoods.

In our environmental endeavors, we are committed to making significant strides over the next three years. Our key objectives include reducing forest fires by 50% and fostering an increase in native trees within the Western Ghats region. This concerted effort aims to create a cooler atmosphere, expand catchment areas, and contribute to the formation of new streams. By addressing these environmental concerns, we aspire to contribute to the broader sustainability and resilience of our ecosystem.

Within the Kurangani hills, our biodiversity goals are centered around achieving a 100% improvement in the life span of sparrow species, alongside enhanced pollination facilitated by butterflies and honeybees over the next three years. This multifaceted initiative aims to create more habitats for diverse bird species, offering an educational experience for students in an eco-friendly environment. Increased pollination not only supports local wildlife but also contributes to the broader ecological balance, creating a harmonious coexistence.

GREEN's commitment to conservation and restoration is evident in projects like the "Conservation of 1.25 Million Trees in the Forest Fire Regime." These initiatives not only aim to restore deforested areas but also address the broader impact of climate change on forest health. Through strategic interventions, GREEN endeavors to mitigate the consequences of unprecedented wildfires, large-scale tree mortality, and ecological disturbances. The focus is not only on immediate restoration but also on fostering ecological resilience for the sustained health of forest ecosystems.

Impact

As the impact of climate change becomes increasingly evident, developing climate resilience and adaptive strategies is crucial. GREEN's projects focus on understanding the vulnerabilities of forest ecosystems and implementing measures to enhance their resilience. This involves comprehensive vulnerability assessments that encompass terrestrial and aquatic habitats, biodiversity, vegetation management, hydrology, and forest road systems. By identifying and implementing adaptive strategies, GREEN strives to minimize the adverse effects of climate change on forest ecosystems, ensuring their sustainability and the well-being of the communities that depend on them. Impact - 250 projects implemented successfully in the operational areas. - 285,000 trees planted using seed balls in the target area of 45,000 hectares. - 20% reduction in forest fires has been achieved through the establishment of forest nurseries and the innovative use of seed - 100 tribal women enabled to become producers and entrepreneurs through Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP). - 10 schools saw reduced absenteeism and an improved education experience for mountain students. - 1374 SHGs supported to avail credit facilities from nationalized banks and other MFIs. - 3 districts in Tamil Nadu, namely Madurai, Theni, and Dindigul, underwent comprehensive field survey and mapping. - 45,000 hectares witnessed a concerted effort in the acceleration of conservation actions for butterflies, flora, and fauna. - 50 acres of dry lands adjacent to the forest areas have been impacted for the Tribal Women Farmers, who have no specific community support.
