Over the past 5 years, Charkha has trained more than 500 youth, with 301 trained in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir alone from August 2012 to March 2015.
Vision & Mission
Charkha's vision is to empower communities in remote areas to take charge of their own development through creative media use, while its mission is to establish sustainable two-way communication networks enabling underserved communities to benefit from development mechanisms and advocate for policy changes.
Milestones & Track Record
Charkha has given Media Awards to over 20 youth, continues to be the only Trilingual Feature Service in the country (Limca Book of records), and its articles are published across 12 English, 7 Hindi, and 22 Urdu newspapers and magazines, as well as over 20 web portals.
