Impact

Reach & Quantitative Impact  The children from Kashirampara and the surrounding areas get education in English medium, textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, shoes, socks, sweaters, school bags, and mid-day meals entirely free of cost.  Medical camps are organized to provide free medical check–up, immunizations, etc., for students and teachers on a regular basis with appropriate follow up.  Local men and women have found employment with GITS in this area as teachers and kitchen helpers.  Essential grocery relief kits were distributed to the students and family members of GITS during the pandemic. Qualitative Impact  GITS adheres to the CBSE syllabus and children belonging to the Reang tribe get access to quality education and Macmillan books like children in the urban areas of the country.  Socio-economic development of the Reang community by providing quality education and nutritious food to children, providing employment opportunities to local youth and women in GITS and Akshaya Patra kitchen.  Children are provided freshly prepared nutritious and tasty mid-day meals with varied menus from the Akshaya Patra kitchen. This addresses classroom hunger and improves their concentration levels, thus enhancing their learning capacities.
