About

  • Headquarters

    Chandrapur, Maharashtra

  • Since

    1971

Here at Vidyarathi Sahayak Samiti (VSS) provide accommodation, food and a conducive atmosphere to students belonging to tribal and remote areas of War Read moreora, eastern Maharashtra. Tribal children tend to live in forests or remote areas where access to a good education is limited leaving over half of the tribal population in Maharashtra illiterate. Warora is famous for its educational institutes and the only known destination for talented tribal students living in neighbouring areas. However, the children often come from disadvantaged families and cannot afford education or accommodation away from home. We make sure that hard-working students have access to a proper education by providing them with residential facilities and food for free or at minimal costs. Our organisation is not just a hostel for disadvantaged students, but also a centre for personal development and character building. Students use our in-house library of 15,000 books, 15 daily newspapers, and over 50 magazines. We help to match the learning levels of the students in their present schools by providing laboratory training in subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology.
