  • Counselling & Legal Assistance Programme

Offering vital support through counselling and legal assistance, the organisation helps individuals and families affected by sexual and gender-based violence. By comprehending the diverse outcomes of such violence and considering the nature of the abuse and the victim's coping abilities, the organisation crafts targeted intervention strategies to aid victims and survivors effectively.

  • Community Outreach Programme

Sakhya actively engages in community outreach, collaborating with individuals and networks to facilitate healthier choices and bolster resilience. By sensitizing communities and fostering a sense of belonging, it empowers women through consistent meetings, workshops, and specialized programmes. These efforts nurture leadership qualities, enhancing decision-making skills and financial independence. Sessions address awareness about women's status, gender-based violence, stress management, cybercrime, parenting, legal aspects, and personal development. Sakhya also extends its impact to diverse groups, including youth, corporate employees, healthcare professionals, and law enforcement personnel, aiming to eliminate gender discrimination, raise awareness, sensitize the masses, and prevent violence perpetration.

  • Awareness Campaigns

Sakhya conducts awareness campaigns as a multi-pronged approach to educate various stakeholders, such as citizens, media, policymakers, employers, and social workers, about the significance of the issue. Through these efforts, there's been an observed increase in referrals to Sakhya for assistance. Notably, it actively participates in the International Week for the Elimination of Violence against Women, marked on November 25th, collaborating with the UN to raise awareness about global gender-based violence. The organisation employs diverse strategies like leaflet distribution, talks, competitions, sessions, street plays, and rallies in strategic locations, such as the "Knock the Door" campaign involving leaflet distribution within communities and street plays in public spaces.

  • Networking & Advocacy Programme

Recognizing the power of collaboration, Sakhya engages in partnerships at local, regional, and national levels to drive transformative change. Through such networks, the organisation works collectively to influence policy-level alterations.
