Bird Rescue and Rehabilitation
StateStates
Andhra Pradesh
Telangana
Animal Warriors Conservation Society runs a dedicated Bird Rehabilitation and Awareness Center in Hyderabad to rescue and rehab injured or sick birds. These birds are given good care and medication and released back into wild. Our BRAC also plays an important role in educating communities and school children towards conservation of nature and protection of animals.
Our 5-acre animal rescue, rehabilitation, and awareness shelter in Hyderabad is dedicated to providing injured birds and animals a second chance at life. With an on-site clinic, professional vets, and a rehabilitation zone, we treat an average of 100+ injured birds monthly. Birds are nurtured with food, medicine, and care until they’re ready to fly again. The shelter also features a pre-release unit to assess their readiness for the wild. Visitors are welcome to explore our awareness center and engage in real-time experiences, gaining insight into our life-saving work for animals.

Saving Animal from Distress

At AWCS, our mission to save animals in distress often takes us into the most challenging and near-impossible situations. From rescuing animals trapped in deep borewells, high-tension wires, and old farm wells to saving lives during disasters, we step in where others cannot. In 2024, we successfully rescued over 1,000 animals during the devastating Vijayawada floods, adding to the 500 animals saved during the 2018 Kerala floods. Last year, we extended our efforts further, rescuing 1,483 mammals, 1,048 birds, and 130 reptiles across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These tactical rescues require not only specialized equipment but also a highly skilled team dedicated to our guiding belief: "If we can't, then who will?" Each life saved reflects our unwavering commitment to providing animals with a second chance at life, no matter the challenge.

Oceans Detangled
StateStates
Andhra Pradesh
Ocean De-Tangled is our marine cleanup initiative aimed at removing ghost nets—abandoned fishing nets—from the oceans, which threaten marine life and the fishing community. With the help of local people, we collect and clean these ghost nets, then upcycle them into useful products like volleyball nets and floor mats. In 2023, our efforts led to the recovery of 2,746 kg of ghost nets, a significant impact on preserving marine ecosystems. This project not only reduces ocean pollution but also provides income opportunities for local fisherwomen, empowering them to support their families. As one of the few NGOs in India tackling this issue, we remain dedicated to both protecting marine life and supporting community well-being.
