AssisTech Foundation (ATF), is India’s first Assistive Technology (AT) ecosystem that focuses on empowering Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by enabli Read moreng learning, livelihood, and living opportunities (3Ls of empowerment). We do so by harnessing the power of AT & supporting development of innovative technology products and services. ATF's core work revolves around the strategic use of AT as a transformative tool for enablement & our initiatives focus on addressing the 4As – Availability, Awareness, Association, and Acceleration of Assistive Technology led enablement of persons with disabilities.
Issue
Disability is often seen as a limiting factor, something that holds individuals back from achieving their full potential. But the truth is that everybody has the ability to change disability, to challenge the status quo and create a more inclusive world. By focusing on ability rather than disability, we can unlock the untapped potential of millions of individuals and create a society that is truly equitable and just. One of the ways in which we can change disability is through the promotion of Assistive Technology (AT). However, the impact of AT goes far beyond just assisting individuals with disabilities. By creating a more inclusive world, AT is changing the way we perceive disability and challenging traditional notions of what it means to be disabled. This shift in perspective has the potential to unlock the untapped potential of millions of individuals with disabilities, who are often excluded from mainstream society due to societal barriers and negative attitudes. We believe- Everybody has the ability to change disability Everybody has the ability to change disability, to challenge traditional notions of what it means to be disabled, and create a more inclusive and equitable society. By promoting AT and other disability inclusion-based solutions, we can unlock the untapped potential of millions of individuals and create a world that values ability over disability. It's time to change the conversation and focus on what individuals with disabilities can do, rather than what they cannot do.
Action
AssisTech Foundation aims to impact lives by focussing on 3Ls - Learning, Livelihood, and Living - these are the critical components of empowering people with disabilities and promoting social inclusion. At ATF, we play a crucial role as an ecosystem enabler, collaborating with startups and diverse stakeholders to foster the growth of innovative Assistive Technology (AT) solutions and the broader ecosystem. By partnering with Government bodies, Corporates, People with Disabilities, Educational Institutions, Startups & Innovators, Investors, and NGOs, we maximize outreach and collectively drive innovation in the AT ecosystem to empower PwDs. Central to our mission is leveraging AT as a transformative tool to enhance the learning, living, and livelihoods of persons with disabilities. ATF's initiatives are strategically focused on the 4As – Availability, Awareness, Association, and Acceleration of Assistive Technology, ensuring comprehensive enablement and inclusive development for PwDs.
