Drzyashakti Trust has been committed to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) since 2018 by providing foundational education, life and social sk Read moreills, and employment-oriented training tailored to their unique strengths and capacities. Founded and led by Ms. Geeta Poduval, a former Government of India officer who chose to serve the disability sector full-time, the Trust focuses on creating meaningful livelihood opportunities. Our programs span diverse fields, including digital media, performing arts, front office operations, and alternative career paths suited to each individual’s potential. With structured support and deep compassion, we have transformed the lives of over 1,000 PwDs, enabling them to earn with dignity, express their talents, and lead empowered, self-reliant lives. At Drzyashakti, we believe that disability is not a limitation—but a journey of rediscovered possibility. Join us in building a more inclusive, opportunity-filled future.

Issue

1. Social Stigma & Bias – Deep-rooted prejudice affects our trainees’ confidence and acceptance in society. Many parents even deny their child’s disability, resisting efforts to skill and empower them. 2. Unstable Funding – Despite our impact, consistent funding—especially for long-term empowerment—is hard to secure. Disability causes often receive limited donor focus. 3. Shortage of Experts – Finding qualified trainers, interpreters, and inclusion specialists remains a challenge, affecting our ability to scale effectively. 4. Low Literacy & Exposure – Many PwDs we work with lack basic education and digital familiarity, requiring added time and foundational support. 5. Family Overprotection – Excessive dependence on caregivers restricts personal growth and hinders the development of independence and confidence. 6. Barriers to Employment – Even after training, bias, workplace inaccessibility, and employer hesitation create major hurdles in job placement. 7. Weak Ecosystem Linkages – Lack of collaboration between NGOs, corporates, and government bodies limits collective impact and resource pooling. 8. Neglected Mental Health – Many PwDs face anxiety and low self-worth, yet we lack adequate access to professional mental health support for sustained care.

Action

• Empowering with Purpose: We help Persons with Disabilities gain essential education, life skills, and job-focused training—so they can live with dignity, confidence, and independence. • Changing Mindsets: Through sensitization workshops in schools, colleges, and workplaces, we nurture empathy and acceptance for an inclusive society. • Building an Inclusive Tomorrow: We bring together PwDs and the community to create a world where every ability is valued and no one is left behind.
