Energy Swaraj Foundation (ESF) is a non-profit organisation committed to achieving Energy Swaraj or Energy Independence globally, with a focus on clea Read moren and sustainable energy like solar power. The Foundation's philosophy centres on the urgent need to shift from harmful fossil fuels to clean energy, guided by the principles of limiting consumption and localizing production. These principles align with nature's laws and are reflected in ancient wisdom. ESF's inception stems from the successful SoULS project, an initiative that engaged local communities in solar energy activities and garnered recognition for its impact. The Foundation's objective is to establish Energy Swaraj as a global public movement, aiming to educate over a billion people about energy and inspire millions of households to transition to 100% solar power by 2030.

Energy Swaraj Yatra Programme
Energy Swaraj Foundation initiated the Energy Swaraj Yatra, spanning from 2020 to 2030, to establish Energy Swaraj as a solution to climate change. This movement focuses on immediate individual actions, irrespective of government policies, to drive energy self-reliance. The Yatra, conducted through a solar bus, aims to raise awareness about energy consumption's impact on climate and promote a shift towards 100% solar-powered living. The solar bus, a mobile home for Dr Chetan Singh Solanki, the founder of the Energy Swaraj Foundation, showcases the potential of solar energy for daily activities. The Yatra involves talks, seminars, and training programmes to engage schools, colleges, and organisations, creating a public movement for climate action.

Energy Literacy Training Programme
Energy Swaraj Foundation offers Energy Literacy Training to address climate change challenges caused by carbon-based energy consumption. The Foundation emphasizes the urgent need for immediate individual actions to limit global warming and engage in climate corrective measures. Energy Literacy Training educates individuals about energy generation, consumption, conservation, and clean energy alternatives through 12 modules, fostering an understanding of environmental impacts and carbon footprints. This training is accessible online and offline, aiming to sensitively educate participants and institutions, from schools to industries, on sustainable energy practices. The outcome includes enhanced energy sensitivity, reduced consumption, cost savings, and lowered carbon emissions, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals.

Energy Swaraj Clubs Initiative
Energy Swaraj Foundation introduces Energy Swaraj Clubs as essential action nodes of the Energy Swaraj Movement, aiming to drive public action within local communities. Recognizing collective responsibility for climate change, these clubs advocate for mass adoption of local energy generation and consumption, fostering a public movement independent of policies or subsidies. The clubs, established in schools, colleges, housing societies, and organisations, promote energy literacy, advocate for the principles of energy self-reliance, and set examples of energy independence through actions such as off-grid solar installations. With a minimum of 11 members aged 12 and above, these clubs encourage responsible energy practices, fostering awareness, and becoming environmental advocates.

Energy Swaraj Conference & Awards Programme
Energy Swaraj Foundation presents the annual Action for Restoring the Environment (ARE) Conference, an initiative aimed at promoting quantifiable actions for environmental restoration. Building on the success of the 2022 ARE Conference, the upcoming event is scheduled for November 24-25, 2023. The conference serves as a platform for diverse stakeholders to collectively address climate change concerns and take united steps, bridging the gaps left by COP27 outcomes. With impactful sessions representing various sectors and the Energy Swaraj Awards honouring climate change mitigation efforts, the 2022 conference witnessed the participation of over 350 attendees and numerous online viewers. The central question driving the conference was whether enough actions are being taken to combat climate change, a matter on which the speakers voiced unanimous agreement that greater action is required.
