LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation was established on in .2006 as a part of LIC’s community development responsibility. The foundation works with organisat Read moreions to identify the pain areas and provides financial aid to resolve their problems. The foundation supports projects ranging from construction of hospitals, school buildings and classrooms, library, computer centre, old age homes, hostel buildings for children in tribal areas, vocational training centres for differently abled persons to provide infrastructural facilities to needy persons in different pockets of the country. It has provided funds for purchase of school buses for transportation of differently abled children and ambulances for transportation of patients to hospitals. The foundation has supported for treatment of children afflicted with cancer through Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai, cochlear implant programme for children from economically weaker sections of the society through KEM Hospital, Pune and treatment of heart surgery of children suffering from congenital heart disease through Balaji Heart Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, Mumbai. LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation has reached out in areas where natural calamities have devastated human life and provided infrastructural support to orphan children through NGO’s.


Action

Since inception, the foundation has supported 900 projects totaling ₹207.81 crore across categories of education advancement, medical relief, and general public utility.

    District

    The foundation works with hospitals such as Tata memorial hospital, Balaji heart hospital, St. John's ambulance brigade, Shri Durga Mata Charitable Dispensary, Guru Granth Sahib Sewa Society, Childrens Aid Society, Nidaan Sewa Samiti, and Ramakrishna Mission to fund the treatment of patients from economically weaker backgrounds.

    Collaborates with organisations such as The Akshaya Patra Foundation, Assam Centre for Rural Development, World Renewal Spiritual Trust, Roman Catholic Diocesan Social Service Society, Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal, Sulabh International Social Service Organisation and Sri Sri Rural Development Programme for various activities of public use.

  • Education

    District

    LIC has partnered with several schools and organisations to ensure that every child has access to quality education and care. Among many other educational initiatives, the foundation provided financial aid to the Gregorian Community, Roha. This school empowers intellectually disabled children to function as independent adults. LIC foundation provided funds to purchase occupational therapy tools, audio-visual equipment and a vehicle for the specially-abled children. LIC foundation has helped the Leprosy Mission Trust India to provide better infrastructure facilities for their students. The Leprosy Trust provides free accommodation to children with disabilities who are currently pursuing their vocational training. The foundation’s financial aid was used to repair the existing building and build a new recreation facility.
