Theory of Change

The organisation is purely community-based and works mainly with community resources with the help of community members. All the members are from the local community and work as volunteer to be the development partners. We are focused exclusively on our locality, especially the two blocks of the Sundarbans. As we work for our locality, which is a highly remote area of the world, namely the Sundarbans, with a scarcity of skilled and technical personnel, and as we are purely volunteers and running on a limited budget, we are unable to follow the corporate-type administrative system.
As a result, our theory of change is founded on real-world experience. For example, we began the education programme a long time ago, and we then organised a number of non-formal education centres, adult education centres, childhood education centres, and so on. Our volunteers used to go door to door to enrol people in the literacy programme and teach them. In response to changing circumstances, we gradually transitioned to formal education for children from disadvantaged communities, establishing eight education centres throughout the region. All of the centres are now working together to run a single education centre that will provide quality education to the children of the area's poor and disadvantaged residents.
Similarly, we have made changes to our agricultural activities for local peasants, our health care programme, our mother and child care programme, immunization programme and so on, in response to changes in the area, such as changes in the environment and social system, communication, technological innovation, and so on. However, no written charts or documents were created for this purpose.
