Digantar is an organisation with a strong educational philosophy that aims to develop rational autonomy, sensitivity, democratic values, and dignity o Read moref labour in children. It believes that education is essential for individuals to become self-motivated and independent learners, enabling them to make responsible decisions in society. Sensitivity towards all forms of life and an ongoing discourse among citizens are integral parts of their educational approach. Digantar strives to provide educational opportunities based on these principles, primarily focusing on rural children and running educational programmes in three villages with over 600 students. The organisation's journey began in 1978 with a small school, and over time, they expanded their focus to rural areas, formally registering as a non-profit society in 1987. Digantar has successfully worked with Government programmes as a resource support agency and continues to make efforts to improve the quality of education and school environments in Government schools. In addition, it runs a programme called Pehchan for out-of-school adolescent girls in Phagi block, Jaipur.
