ANK's was initiated by a group of like-minded individuals with a shared vision. Their primary goal was to provide education to underprivileged childre Read moren, create livelihood opportunities for disadvantaged rural and urban youth, and enhance the quality of health services for adolescent girls and women. ANK operates in Delhi, NCR, and rural areas of Bihar. ANK's core belief is rooted in the notion that quality education can significantly uplift the living standards of impoverished communities. They view education as a powerful tool capable of empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their lives and future. By equipping the underprivileged with knowledge, their mission centers around harnessing the potential of education to bring about positive change and make knowledge accessible to millions.

Impact

More than 20,000 children have benefited from the organisation's learning program for the out-of-school children. The health programs have touched the lives of more than 40000 underprivileged families. Through various skill development training programs, the organisation has provided employability to more than 7500 underprivileged youth in various sectors like Retail, Hospitality, IT firms, Hospitals, BPO, Electrical and Civil sectors.

Programs

  • Skill development

    The organization offers courses in basic computer, spoken English, 2D and 3D animation, retail, and hospitality services. These courses are designed keeping in mind the expectations from the industry.
    ANK provides basic entrepreneurship skills to the trainees. These skills not only create opportunities for self-employment but also foster a mindset of innovation and resourcefulness.

  • Getting girls to code

    This is an initiative to address the gender gap in the tech industry. It empowers girls with valuable digital marketing skills. In today's technology-driven world, it is essential to encourage and support girls' participation in tech-related fields, as they are historically underrepresented in these areas. The 6-month course covers topics such as web designing, SEO and SMO executive, graphic designing, and social media management. This program equips the girls to break barriers and venture into a rewarding career in the IT industry.

  • Health

    Ank organises regular health programs every quarter of the year. Children are scanned for disability, ophthalmic issues, dental issues and general health issues such as nutritional deficiencies etc. The key focus areas that Ank is working on are: cleft lip, vision issues, disability, and one-time intervention for critical solvable cases. Ank intervenes by helping underprivileged children access correctional aids like knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO) and ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) which shall help disabled children gain some normalcy in their lives.

  • Agriculture

    State

    Since 2015, Ank has worked closely with farmers from rural Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand to provide technical support and guide them to select the best quality seeds and plan their cultivation calendar. It also helps farmers in soil testing process. It builds marketing linkage between the producer and the consumers. This helps the farmers get what they deserve out of their physical hard work and efforts. Till date, about 500 households have benefitted because of Ank’s intervention.

  • Education

    The Learning Centres (LCs) established by ANK are dedicated to ensuring quality education, increasing primary school retention rates, and reducing dropout rates. The main objective is to achieve universal elementary education in the project area. The program's focus lies in providing children with basic education while emphasizing the retention of knowledge and cultivating a positive attitude towards learning.
    Effective monitoring of the projects is crucial to achieve these goals, and ANK has developed an in-house tool for this purpose. It tracks various aspects such as teachers' attendance, students' attendance and progress, as well as family and demographic data of the students. This system promptly alerts the program management team about any issues that require attention, ensuring continuous improvement and transparency for donors.
