Its active involvement in rural development focuses on benefiting women, children, students, and youth, encompassing poverty alleviation, education enhancement, health and hygiene, sanitation, nutrition, conservation of natural resources, environmental pollution control, and village health nutrition development camps. The organisation conducts seminars, workshops, campaigns, and awareness programmes, engaging the community in collective efforts to uplift and progress together. Through collaborations with Government departments, non-government funding agencies, and donors, it achieves significant socio-economic development outcomes in its pursuit of Gandhi's vision.

Programs

  • Health Check-Up and Medical Camp Programme

    The Foundation prioritizes the development of rural people, especially the elderly and sick. It organised treatment-cum-checkup camps at its premises, offering primary healthcare services. During the reported years, over 1600 people received treatment and medicine through the Foundation's funds from contributions made by members and well-wishers. The West Bengal Gandhi Peace Foundation responded to these challenges by implementing a multi-faceted programme that addresses women's reproductive health concerns and collaborates closely with local self-government health staff. The programme empowers women as major providers and users of child survival and reproductive health services through research, advocacy, and experimentation.

  • Awareness & Counselling Programme

    The Foundation actively implements various programmes for rural development and empowerment of students, youth, women, and farmers' family members. These initiatives include village health and nutrition development camps, income-generating training in Zari embroidery, tailoring, fruit processing, and jute works. The organisation also conducts seminars on agriculture development, kitchen garden, and medicinal plant cultivation. It focuses on students' empowerment through book and stationery distribution, youth development through self-employment training, and organising sports, games, and cultural events. Additionally, health check-up camps, worker's conferences, and various celebratory events are part of its efforts.

  • Environment Awareness Campaigns

    The Foundation focuses on implementing Environment Awareness programmes to develop and uplift the area. Initiatives include camps, public meetings, resource material publication, medicinal plant cultivation, and plantation. Thousands of plants have been planted, and further programmes are planned in the near future.

  • Peace Programme Activities

    The main objective of the Peace work was to identify a local team capable of continuing peace initiatives. The Foundation conducted programmes on Assam Peace Work activities, including Special Lectures in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Antarrastriya Hindi University, Wardha, Sarva Seva Sangha, and Lakshmi Ashram. Other programmes included Shanti-Sadbhavana Cycle Yatras, Student, Youth, and Citizen's Convention on Communal Harmony & Peace through Gandhi's approach, Assam Peace work, and Book Releases.

  • Empowerment of Women Programmes through Mothers’ Meeting
