Programs

  • Aarohi Bal Sansar

Aarohi Bal Sansar (ABS) initially began as a primary school in 1994 and has evolved into a middle school catering to over 150 students from nearby villages within a 7 km radius. With eco-friendly infrastructure, a spacious playground, a low teacher-student ratio of 1:11, a balanced blend of academics and co-curricular activities, creative teaching methods, and expert inputs, the school offers a nurturing space for children to explore and appreciate life's richness. It believes that joyful experiences during childhood foster the development of compassionate, responsible individuals.
Aligned with its vision of holistic development, ABS extends its reach through an outreach program launched in 2016, aiming to enhance the government pre-school/primary education system in remote areas. The program promotes comprehensive learning opportunities for children in Ramgarh and Okhalkanda blocks.

  • Aarohi Arogya Kendra (AAK)

Aarohi Arogya Kendra (AAK), the advanced hospital in Satoli, complements Aarohi’s community health program, offering outpatient, inpatient, diagnostic, and surgical care along with outreach services. Equipped with a contemporary operation theater, the hospital conducts gynecological, general, and reconstructive surgeries through camp-based setups.
Introduced in 2014 in partnership with State and District authorities, the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) extends quality healthcare to distant communities. Staffed by doctors and para-medical professionals, the MMU covers 400-450 km between the 1st and 8th of each month, serving 600 to 700 patients monthly. These camps, crucial for routine ANC checkups of pregnant women, identify high-risk pregnancies and ensure safe deliveries.

  • Livelihood Promotion Program

The Livelihood Promotion Program supplements income and offers employment in the mountain region. Over a thousand farmers in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh benefit from apricot and peach-based body care products and culinary herbs business.
Utilizing cold-pressed Apricot oil extracted from the previously discarded kernel, Aarohi introduced a crop insurance concept for subsistence farmers. This oil serves as the foundation for the body care line, including scrubs, creams, and soaps. Concurrently, high-quality dried culinary herbs from the mountains were introduced due to their superior quality compared to those from the plains.
Village households earn through direct raw material sales, apricot nut shelling, oil cake pounding for scrubs, and herb cleaning and sorting. The program operates a decentralized processing unit in Satoli for these body care and culinary products. These are marketed under the Aarohi brand and widely available in major cities across India.

  • Village homestay program

Ecotourism presents a modern approach to establish an alternative livelihood, curbing land abandonment and rural-urban migration. Introduced in 2013, the Village Homestay Program aims to foster eco-tourism and generate additional income for local families.
This initiative provides guests and volunteers with an exceptional opportunity to immerse themselves in rural life alongside local families. Homestay proprietors receive consistent guidance on hospitality, management, and maintenance to ensure a fulfilling experience for all participants.
