Cancer treatment
StateStates
Kerala
The "CAN-HELP" Cancer Support Assistance Program, initiated by HELP Foundation, strives to address the gaps in cancer drug availability. It aims to supplement cancer drugs when there is a shortage in the government supply chain, thereby preventing treatment interruptions that can adversely affect patients' well-being.
The surge in the number of cancer patients seeking care at district hospitals has led to an increased demand for cancer drugs. However, sustaining the continuous availability of these drugs at no cost becomes a challenge due to government funding constraints and technical issues in accessing drugs through government insurance schemes like KASP/ KBF. This often results in treatment disruptions, subsequently affecting disease progression and patient outcomes.
The Department of Oncology and Palliative Care at District Hospital Kollam recognized the significance of this issue and sought HELP Foundation's assistance. -

Mangrove afforestation project
StateStates
Kerala
The Mangrove Afforestation project is a strategic endeavour aimed at cultivating an ecosystem-driven approach for the integrated management of land, water, and living resources in the vicinity of Paravur Lake. Beyond merely planting mangroves, this initiative places significant importance on the meticulous nurturing, safeguarding, and monitoring of saplings. Moreover, it endeavours to instil an understanding of the importance and necessity of mangrove conservation within the local community. This meaningful work has also extended to the banks of Ashtamudi Lake.
Mangrove forests, which thrive in saltwater environments within tropical regions, hold a unique ability to sequester "blue carbon" – a term coined to distinguish it from the conventional "green" carbon stored on land. -

Not for profit medical store
StateStates
Kerala
For the past decade, HELP has provided support to Cancer and Dialysis patients through a range of assistance programs. The organization is committed to taking a comprehensive perspective on community environments, considering them as intricate ecosystems. Since 2019, it has expanded the focus to include paralyzed (bedridden) patients, some of whom were the primary earners for their families.
A substantial portion of the financial aid is directed towards covering patients' medication expenses, a significant portion of which often gets funnelled through the layers of the drug distribution network, resulting in about 40% overhead costs. To mitigate this issue, the foundation established partnerships with certain manufacturers who offer their drugs at a 30% discount as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. The foundation directly passes on this entire discount to cancer patients. -
Green messenger
StateStates
Kerala
HELP Foundation introduced the innovative "Green Messenger" Signature Program in November 2012. This program is strategically devised to instate a profound connection with environmental consciousness. The foundation's efforts center on fostering a paradigm shift within the youth, spreading a vital message.
The program's cornerstone involves the designation of a student as a "Green Messenger" through their participation in the school's eco-club. In support of this endeavour, a lecture series has been introduced, encompassing a comprehensive set of 10 sessions. Each session, lasting an hour and a half, is facilitated by dedicated personnel from HELP Foundation. The content of the lecture series is thoughtfully curated, addressing various vital aspects. Meticulously conceived by HELP Foundation's researchers, this series is designed to kindle and sustain high levels of interest and active participation among the student community.
