VikasAnvesh Foundation (VAF) emerged as an initiative of the Tata Trusts in 2016. Following its establishment, it evolved into a distinct legal entity Read more in 2017, now registered as a Company under Section 8 of the Indian Companies Act. VAF's central objective revolves around becoming a distinctive hub dedicated to addressing pivotal development challenges encountered by diverse communities and grassroots workers. It achieves this by conducting thorough and impactful research, channelling the results into serious policy dialogues. VAF collaborates with an array of partners throughout India to identify, characterize, and advance such issues. The research conducted by VAF is bifurcated into two main streams. The first entails assessing the landscape of social development, pinpointing previously overlooked issues that warrant attention from donors. The second is devoted to exploring and comprehending inadequately understood matters that traverse multiple thematic interventions. VAF's principal aim is to not only contribute to practical action but also foster knowledge generation. VAF's distinctive approach lies in prioritizing issues concerning marginalized populations, particularly in areas that conventional research institutions and universities might overlook. This approach underscores the importance of research's relevance to the development community, transcending disciplinary or theoretical boundaries. Over time, VAF anticipates establishing a solid publication record while placing even greater emphasis on influencing civil society, donor initiatives, and governmental actions with regards to the chosen issues.
