About

Building a society where birds and nature thrive alongside people is a challenging but crucial goal that demands urgent attention. The formation of th Read moree Bird Alliance stems from a strong commitment to this vision, aiming to facilitate public engagement and collective action. The Alliance works towards three primary objectives: fostering appreciation by raising public interest, awareness, and commitment; promoting understanding through research to identify and address challenges; and emphasizing conservation to preserve and rejuvenate the natural world. As a facilitatory body, the Alliance's purpose is to encourage and enhance collaborative efforts rather than replace existing initiatives undertaken by numerous individuals, groups, and institutions across India. Currently, it is focused on phase 1, which involves the creation of a comprehensive resource directory available on its website. Future plans include expanding this platform to include features that cater to diverse audiences, allowing them to seek assistance, establish connections, and collaborate effectively towards the aforementioned goals. It operates as a non-registered organisation and is not affiliated with any specific entity. It draws upon the collective goodwill and support of individuals and institutions throughout the country who share a passion for bird welfare. The Alliance is governed by a diverse Steering Group, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity and collaboration.
