  • Education Programmes

    Through its education programmes, the organisation strives to make a meaningful impact. "Masti ki pathshala" focuses on mainstreaming children engaged in child labour and those who have suffered abuse into formal education, with a total of 1950 children integrated in FY 22. The "Education Signature Programme" aims to universalize elementary education, benefiting 4.60 lakh children in 3,780 government schools in FY22. "Project Aakanksha" addresses the education needs of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, with 318 children enrolled. Additionally, the "Jyoti Fellowship" initiative supports SC/ST students from school to post-graduation, with 31,307 fellowships awarded in the past decade. The "Tata Steel Scholars" programme assists meritorious SC/ST students pursuing professional courses, with 116 scholars supported in FY 22. These initiatives collectively contribute to fostering education and socio-economic development.

  • Sustainable Livelihoods Programme

    In pursuit of sustainable livelihoods, the organization has launched several impactful initiatives. The Development Corridor project spans 72 panchayats, creating a corridor of well-being between Jamshedpur and Kalinganagar. In FY 22, 39 Development Corridor Fellows were recognized to empower grassroots leaders. Agricultural interventions, including dairy development, pond-based livelihoods, and horticulture, have boosted the annual income of 52,000 households by an average of ₹1.08 lakh in FY22. Skill development programs offer youth opportunities for technical training, while a focus on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) promotes a dignified life. Lastly, empowering women through capacity-building and income-generating activities in Jharkhand and Odisha enhances social and economic well-being.

  • Public Health Programmes

    In the sphere of public health, the organisation has initiated impactful programmes. MANSI, established in 2009 after a study in Jharkhand, addresses neonatal mortality causes through the Home Based Newborn & Child Care approach. Expanding to various regions, it has led to a significant 47% reduction in child mortality across 1,600 villages over a decade. Project RISHTA trains peer educators to tackle adolescent reproductive and sexual health issues, empowering youth to make informed decisions. Despite pandemic challenges, the programme trained 3,170 adolescents in FY 22 and developed 242 Peer Educators. Mobile ambulances and health awareness camps ensure primary healthcare access in remote areas, especially vital during the pandemic when these services were crucial in some villages.

  • Water Conservation Programmes

    In the realm of water management, the organisation has implemented impactful programmes. It has introduced community-driven integrated water ecosystems, ensuring sufficient surface water storage and groundwater recharge. This approach not only benefits agriculture with second cropping opportunities but also promotes integrated farming, including fishery, duck rearing, and fruit and vegetable cultivation. In FY22, the organisation conserved 162 million cubic feet of water annually, while reclaiming over 6,000 hectares of wasteland for cultivation. Additionally, it is dedicated to providing safe drinking water to all excluded households in its nearby communities through various initiatives.
