CRISIL Foundation is an organisation dedicated to creating a positive social impact. It began with a financial inclusion programme in Assam and Rajast Read morehan, later evolving it into Mein Pragati to reach excluded communities. Its journey has taught them that meaningful social impact demands time, effort, and a deep understanding of beneficiaries' needs. It has worked to break stereotypes and expand its reach beyond rural women. CRISIL Foundation, established in March 2013, serves as CRISIL's CSR arm, focusing on socially and economically disadvantaged communities both within and outside their operational areas. It has been recognized with the National CSR Award in 2020 for its efforts in financial capability building and environmental conservation, demonstrating its commitment to making a difference. CRISIL Foundation's dedication to social impact extends to its recognition and awards, highlighting its contributions to CSR in challenging circumstances, particularly in Assam. Its work goes beyond the norm, reflecting its commitment to improving the lives of marginalized communities.

Programs

  • Mein Pragati Programme

CRISIL Foundation empowers socially and economically disadvantaged individuals by enhancing their financial capabilities. They teach women the importance of saving, enabling them to provide education and a brighter future for their children. Through a distinctive approach to financial inclusion, particularly targeting women in rural areas of Assam and Rajasthan with their program Mein Pragati, they empower these women to actively participate in financial decision-making, fostering economic independence and a better quality of life.

  • Gramshakti Programme

CRISIL Foundation's GramShakti program builds upon the successful model of a trained community cadre in Assam and Rajasthan. This innovative initiative focuses on creating a cadre of community workers through an online learning and certification programme, aimed at promoting financial literacy and inclusion at the grassroots level. The programme includes mobile-based learning in regional languages, offering engaging content, both theoretical and practical. Launched in June 2018, GramShakti leverages CRISIL Foundation's expertise in training Sakhis in Assam and Rajasthan and financial health workers in Haryana and Maharashtra. Its ultimate goal is to establish a scalable and replicable model for developing a pan-India cadre of trained community leaders, addressing financial exclusion and women's empowerment effectively.

  • CRISIL RE Programme

CRISIL Foundation's CRISIL RE program focuses on a wide range of initiatives aimed at social and environmental betterment. These initiatives encompass financial inclusion, community development, education, health, environment conservation, waste management, and skill building. They include projects like financial awareness for the differently-abled, integrated rural development, holistic development through extracurricular education, creating a digital library for the visually impaired, affordable and environment-friendly sanitary care, sustainable waste management, and workshops for enhancing culinary skills and life skills for marginalized individuals. CRISIL Foundation's commitment extends to making a positive impact on various aspects of society and the environment through these diverse programmes and projects.
