Helping Organisation for People, Environment, and Animal Trust (HOPE & Animal Trust) is doing the vital work of protecting and saving urban animal Read mores from cruelty and suffering. We approach our work with energy, hope, and determination every day. We use all the levers of change available for helping animals like- direct care, education, sterilization, rescue, treatment, rehabilitation and release. Through our education program, we tried to disseminate information among the community and especially amongst children as a humane society could be made through them who are the future. Our efforts have continued in helping animals in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh and Aurangabad in Maharashtra. In Ranchi, we are continuing our efforts to keep and maintain zero human deaths due to Rabies. We have completed three years of achieving zero human deaths due to Rabies in Ranchi city. At Varanasi, we have rescued, treated, rehabilitated and released thousands of animals including cats, dogs, cows, monkeys, pigs and donkeys. We have renovated a new animal facility for dogs in the holy city of Varanasi and in the historical city of Aurangabad. This year, we have initiated animal welfare activities at Patiala, Punjab.


Action

HOPE works to improve animal welfare, eradicate rabies by controlling and vaccinating street dogs, and help rural communities develop sustainable livelihoods.

Since 2001, HOPE has sterilized and vaccinated over 20,000 dogs and increased their spay/neuter cases to 10,000 per year.

Vision & Mission

HOPE's mission is to work for the protection of the environment and animals, control the street dog population, prevent animal suffering, and help reduce poverty through farm animal welfare programs.

Programs

  • Shelters for Animals

    Runs shelters in various cities with permanent vaccination and sterilization teams consisting of dedicated vets, para vets and dog catchers who have embarked on an intensive dog population control and vaccination program. Our purpose-built mobile veterinary hospital truck hosts monthly surgical training courses along with neutering and vaccine campaigns. Our team in the city of Ranchi have neutered and vaccinated more than 90,000 dogs in the city protecting the population and dogs alike from contracting this vicious rabies disease.

Milestones & Track Record

HOPE has built and runs the HOPE Rescue and Rehabilitation Shelter for Animals in Khunti, 35 km from Ranchi.
