Our intent is to help build a robust ecosystem for all such students so that the growth in realized potential from Bihar is tangible. Prarambhika Education Trust runs a CBSE affiliated school in the rural area, since2014, which is 20 km from the heart of the city, Patna, Bihar. Our approach is to garner children from different districts of Bihar by holding sports selection camps. These children who will be selected here (any inclination towards learning the sport) will be encouraged to join the sports academy as well as the school. The academy will provide coaching in sports given by professional coaches, and their academic learning will continue in our school. The academic curriculum will be tailored keeping in mind that these children will excel in sports; however, we want to bring the students to an academic standard where they will be able to pursue an alternate career if not sports. Our students will not have to trade one essential skill for the other. Our school is affiliated with CBSE and is up to 10+2. We see many children in our rural branch who have the fire within them to do so much more both in sports and education. Similarly, there are so many students from different parts of Bihar with similar aspirations and limitations. Based on our research we know that students from various small towns in Bihar come to Patna, which provides very few and limited sporting facilities to pursue their dreams. However, these students have to go back to their villages to take exams, and often they have to give up one for the other. A healthy and adequate diet along with training on dietary requirements will also be an essential part of our program. Thus we have initiated a sports complex at our school which can give an opportunity to the children of weaker socio-economic backgrounds. We have been able to make a cricket/football field from the donation we have raised from friends and family so far. (see image on right) Now we need funds to make a state-of-art indoor muti-games hall which can house Badminton, BasketBall, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Table Tennis and a hostel facility.
