INTRODUCTION Jyoti Foundation was founded by some educated and dedicated youth and social workers with a view to developing the socio-economic statu Read mores of the poor and downtrodden people emphasising distressed women and children. Now the organisation is taking an important role in up gradation of the port status of the many other small village groups (Men & Women). We are very actively engaged in the field of orphan child adoption, helping them in getting proper food, clothing, shelter, education, health and necessary guidance and support. It is registered under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 as amended. VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT Jyoti Foundation envisages a society free from all sorts of discrimination. There will not be differences in nationality, religion, sex, colour, rich and poor. Human equality as mutual dignity, love respect, sincerity, correctness and self-confidence will be maintained local destroyed culture should be revived. To achieve its goal it will undertake programmes and projects for education, sanitation and rural health, advancement of literacy, culture, scientific and technical education, a vocational training programme for the youths, a gymnasium programme, children and women, welfare programmes for the aged, sick, destitute and undertaken programmes for the welfare of disabled persons and other various programmes as the society needs. OPERATIONAL AREA The organisation is at present working in backward areas in the district of North 24 Parganas and nearby districts in West Bengal. The areas of our activity are definitely backward regions in the state, where the majority of the population depends on agriculture for their livelihood. TARGET GROUPS Underprivileged, economically backward sections of the society with the priority to orphan children, destitute women and distressed children, older persons, disabled persons and students are the target groups of Saikat Memorial Trust. During the year 2021-22, the organisation has covered 500+ poor people and children through its multifarious development activities.
