Project Shresta aims to empower rural populations by leveraging technology platforms to enhance their knowledge and foster social businesses. Initially launched in the Wayanad district of Kerala—a geographically disadvantaged and socially promising region—Shresta is particularly focused on supporting marginalized communities, including the tribal Adivasis, who constitute over 20 percent of the local population and face significant marginalization and deprivation.
The primary objective of this project is to establish a robust platform that facilitates the development of economically viable, self-owned social enterprises, with a specific emphasis on empowering marginalized individuals, especially women and children. We provide support in various areas, including financial inclusion, small business practices, training, marketing solutions, and overseeing the sustainability of their enterprises, utilizing IT-based platforms to ensure effective management and support.
