Gramiya Valarchi Sangam

Gramiya Valarchi Sangam, shortly known as GVS, is a registered, non-profit, all-women headed and managed voluntary organization, functioning in Kanch Read moreeepuram district since its inception in the year 1986 registered under the Tamil Nadu, Societies Act 27 of 1975, as Registration no 82/1986, dated, and 17.11.1986. The organization has been functioning with a focus on the comprehensive community development of Dalit and Irular people of Kancheepuram, Chengelpet and Cuddalore districts in the state of Tamil Nadu. The initial intervention of the organization was more among the dalit community. They were sensitized and mobilized to challenge untouchability and demand their entitlements.
