Sahasee Embers Charitable Trust has been working since 2017 in the slums of Turbhe in Navi Mumbai Maharashtra. The area is known as the Red Light Area Read more in Navi Mumbai it has around 5000 women who are engaged in Commercial Sex. After the main Red Light Area in Kamathipura in Mumbai was dismantled over the years most of the Women migrated to these slums along with their families. There is a constant migration from other states to this area as one finds cheap housing. Sahasee works with these women who are either willingly engaged or forced into Commercial Sex due to poverty and family pressures. Sahasee works with Women, Children and young adolescent boys and girls with the objective to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse.
