With Aarya, originated from the journey of Shital and Vikrant Bhatkar, parents of a child diagnosed with a rare storage disorder called Niemann Pick C Read more. Facing challenges in diagnosis and treatment due to limited resources in Mumbai, they sought help internationally. With no established care pattern or medicines available, they turned to the internet and connected with other parents in similar situations, highlighting the lack of awareness and support for such disorders in India. Dr. Mamta Muranjan, a Clinical Genetics consultant, explains that storage disorders are metabolic diseases caused by enzyme deficiencies, resulting in a toxic build-up within cells. With around 50 known disorders affecting various body parts, With Aarya aims to raise awareness and advocate for better support systems to assist individuals and families affected by these rare conditions.

Don Gharas Programme
The organisation provides free meals to patients and caregivers in hospitals across Mumbai, Kalwa, Ratnagiri, and Kolhapur through its programme, Don Ghaas, meaning "Two Morsels." Started in 2016 with 50 meals daily at KEM hospital, it has expanded to serve 1000 meals daily. Distribution extended to Ratnagiri Civil Hospital in 2020, and Kalwa Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital and Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Hospital in Kolhapur in 2022. Meals include roti, sabzi, dal khichdi, and a banana.

Aashray Programme
Under the programme "Aashray," the organisation extends support to families with patients by providing essential groceries free of charge. Included items like flour, flattened rice, sugar, tea, pulses, and oil enable families to prepare nutritious meals for their loved ones. To expand assistance, it seeks to adopt more families annually.
