Aina is a Non-governmental Voluntary Organization working since 1997 from Bangalore, India, for the welfare and rights of the most socio-economically marginalized sections, especially deprived children and women. Aina has successfully guided communities to realize their disadvantaged situation, to reflect on their potential, to become aware of welfare needs, and to assert their rights. Aina’s programs have made a significantly positive difference in the lives of hundreds of children, women, and caregivers in society.

Programs

  • Capacity Building and Collaboration

    Regular training programs are conducted for caregivers, mothers of children, and Anganwadi supervisors and teachers focusing on child care, parenting, child rights, and developmental milestones.

    Aina collaborates with the Department of Women and Child Development and the Integrated Child Development Scheme to train Anganwadi workers, community members, schools, and teachers on holistic child development and child rights.

    Aina offers practical advice on effective parenting, positive discipline, and child rights to mothers, parents, school teachers, and community members. Additionally, school children and their teachers receive lessons on child rights and their respective roles and responsibilities.

    The community and school authorities have praised this program and have requested its continuation.

Milestones & Track Record

Aina Trust has established 62 community-based child care centers, trained over 1,000 women and men in media and communication skills, and produced several publications including women's and children's magazines.
