Pure Air. Fresh Water. Rich Soil. for all beings, a vision, Tieedi is working to bring to life for all future generations. An environment conservation Read more organization, our operation began in 2016 in Sonada, Darjeeling. Using permaculture-based solutions, an art and science of working with nature we tackle today’s climate challenges. We are on a mission to create a win-win ecological ecosystem where people and the earth live in harmony. As a frontline warrior of the current climate crisis, we leverage our expertise in experiential environment education, regenerative tourism, natural farming, decentralized waste management, and sustainable land and building design consultation to equip individuals, communities, and institutions with simple solutions to join the fight against climate change. Through our community-led grassroots initiatives, we have been able to provide solutions to the region's challenge of waste mismanagement and offset over 300 tons of waste from landfills, revived local rivers, set up Zero-Waste Villages, and inspired many to join the Zero waste movement within Darjeeling, the neighboring Himalayan communities and beyond.

  • CIGARETTE BUTT RECYCLING

    Butt Bank Revolution
Cigarette butts are a significant yet often overlooked environmental hazard. At Tieedi, we recognize the unique challenges they pose—tiny in size, non-biodegradable, and commonly littered, particularly across the cigarette-dense landscapes of the Darjeeling hills.

  • 100 Zero Waste Households

Inspired by the Kerala model, we’ve engaged local youth to take ownership of their town’s waste management while earning through paid green internships, turning responsibility into a sustainable livelihood.

Milestones & Track Record

Tieedi has removed over 550 tons of waste from rivers and roadsides, decreased greenhouse gas emissions, improved resource efficiency, and gained recognition from the West Bengal Government, National Geographic, and international film festivals.
