SAHARA was registered in 1988 to serve the underprivileged and socially victimized sections of the society, the poor and needy. The founder members, w Read moreho are from middle class background had come up in their life with lot of hardship and struggle and felt the need of helping others who are now struggling to come up in their life. Presently the organization is working in Hyderabad slum areas and in other districts of Telangana. It is striving to bring an overall sustainable development in the community and through years of service have noticed that only through integration of different activities and age groups this shall be possible. It is presently working for Children, Women, Youth, Aged and in the fields of environment, health, life and employability skill development.

Vision & Mission

Sahara's mission is to serve the poor and needy in rural areas and urban slums, enabling them to improve their lives. Their vision is to implement sustainable solutions for various issues hampering development in communities.

Programs

  • Programmes for the youth

    Vocational training programs in beautician, tailoring and embroidery, basic computer skills, spoken English, and office assistant training are provided to economically disadvantaged youth. Additionally, personality development sessions, including workplace English and life skills, are offered. Free counseling and placement services are extended to trained candidates, particularly women.

    Achievements:

    * Conducted counseling sessions for approximately 2000 youth on self-development, career building, and employment opportunities in Gulf countries.
    * Organized youth trainings, festivals, sports, cultural events, and social development programs.
    * Implemented vocational training initiatives benefiting around 4000 youth and adolescent girls in Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad districts, and Hyderabad slums.

Milestones & Track Record

Since 1986, Sahara has spread its work to Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Rangareddy and Hyderabad districts, expanding activities to cover different age groups and development areas.
