The New Liberation Education Economic Development trust is a non-profit organisation which was started in the year 1991 that works for the upliftment Read moreof the less-privileged living in the Perungudi slum. The organisation focuses on providing education and economic development to the masses. The organisation also provides facilities that promote people's overall wellbeing. The organisation has set up a medicare centre, an activity based supplementary education program for children, skill development training programs like tailoring, basket making for women, library services and computer training program to educate women and youth to be self-sustainable and economically independent. The organisation focuses on aiding the community on its path to progress, by offering its many services.

The programme aims to raise public awareness of the following topics: rights and obligations; availability of social programmes and health care; importance of receiving medical attention promptly; and appropriate knowledge of medicine.

Awareness Program
StateAwareness programmes on various subjects, including health, hygiene, infectious and non-communicable illnesses, women's and children's rights, blood donation, alcohol and drug addiction, the environment, and so on, are offered to groups of children, adolescents, youth, and women. The programme aims to educate the public on their rights, and responsibilities, the availability of welfare programmes and health care, the value of receiving medical attention when needed, and the fundamentals of medicine.
