    Determined Our centres engage child labourers who work in hazardous and nonhazardous industries in slums and other places. Under "Balahitha," a project of the National Child Labour Project Society of the Ministry of Labour (NCLP), New Delhi, they are provided with special education. Children between the ages of 7 and 14 receive monthly stipends, vocational training, wholesome food, and special schooling. These kids attend normal schools that have been set up in their community. These initiatives have been in place since September 1998 and have produced positive outcomes.

    The UWL Foundation supports the implementation of sustainable Dalit women empowerment initiatives in 17 target villages spread over 5 coastal clusters.

    The following tasks are carried out:
    facilitating or planning capacity-building workshops for Dalit women's overall development in the relevant villages.
    Organising and carrying out revenue-generating projects to support the Dalit groups' long-term economic growth.
    Disseminating information and providing referral services for government welfare programmes that fall under entitlements.
    supporting and assisting Dalit groups in using the current health and educational resources made available by government agencies.
    contributing to the growth of women's participation and organisational strength in community-based organisations (CBOs).
    offering self-management programmes and assistance in reducing or eliminating domestic abuse.
