Special Schools for Child Laborers
District

Determined Our centres engage child labourers who work in hazardous and nonhazardous industries in slums and other places. Under "Balahitha," a project of the National Child Labour Project Society of the Ministry of Labour (NCLP), New Delhi, they are provided with special education. Children between the ages of 7 and 14 receive monthly stipends, vocational training, wholesome food, and special schooling. These kids attend normal schools that have been set up in their community. These initiatives have been in place since September 1998 and have produced positive outcomes.
