Demographies Served

Impact

BOSCO has rescued over 120,000 children from the streets of Bangalore in the past 35 years and helped reintegrate many of them into society as educated and productive citizens.

Vision & Mission

Vision: A society that will unreservedly care for the wellbeing of its children and youth. Mission: To accompany young people at risk in their journey from the margins to the center of society so they become integrated individuals and responsible citizens.

Programs

  • Outreach

BOSCO's committed goal is to increase its 24-hour presence on the streets, train platforms, workplaces, hotels, workshops, and other high-risk areas by making friends with kids, escorting them to safety, and providing rescue when necessary.

Important BOSCO teams, including CHILDLINE, SJPU, Child Safety Net, and others, work in tandem with law enforcement and other government agencies to conduct rescue operations. For the state of Karnataka's Missing Child Bureau (MCB), BOSCO serves as the State Nodal Agency. To find missing and unaccompanied children and reunite them with their families, it collaborates with the Department of Women and Child Development, the police, and non-governmental organisations.

  • Education

In order to prepare out-of-school youngsters for entry into regular education, BOSCO provides Bridge Education to young people who are at risk. In order to guarantee that every kid receives an education, we collaborate with Anganwadi centres, community and government schools, parents, and concerned community groups while operating in economically disadvantaged slum communities. In order to help school-age children in slum neighbourhoods stay in school and perform well in their studies, supplemental education programmes are implemented.

Milestones & Track Record

Received the National Child Welfare Award in 2015 from the Government of India for its service in child care and protection. Established multiple rehabilitation centers and street presence locations across Bangalore.
