Programs

  • The Cello Programme

    District
    State

Child's Play India Foundation is addressing the scarcity of cello players in India by launching The Cello Project. Due to a shortage of qualified cello teachers for young children, the country has a limited number of cellists, impacting the quality of orchestral music and chamber music. Child's Play India is working on creating a new generation of cellists by collaborating with qualified overseas teachers who will instruct not only children but also local teachers and senior students, preparing them to become future educators. The project is inclusive, welcoming both children and adult learners from the wider community, with students covering their own costs for instrument purchase or rental, ensuring that limited funds are directed towards underprivileged sectors.

  • Child's Play Chorus Programme

    District
    State

Child's Play India Foundation operates The Child's Play Chorus, a vibrant ensemble comprising children from their diverse projects and the welcoming community choir, open to all children in the community. Senior students who have attained a certain level of proficiency are now being equipped with the skills to become educators themselves, while still benefiting from ongoing lessons. These trainee teachers receive a stipend, serving as both an incentive and a valuable source of income for these teenagers and their families. It's a significant step towards nurturing the next generation of music instructors.
