Motivation was founded in 1991 by a group who set out to design a wheelchair for use in the developing world. Robust to cope with rough terrain, affor Read moredable and made using locally sourced materials, the first prototype was trialed in Bangladesh, then was developed around the world. Today Motivation International designs and provides wheelchairs and services around the world.  Motivation India  is a part of this global organization and our heritage is thus rooted firmly in an acute understanding of how ‘good design’ can transform lives. Motivation India began in 2011 . Our Head office is in Bangalore and a regional office in Ahmedabad. We have since transformed the lives of 18,000+ children and adults with disabilities providing appropriate and customized wheelchairs across 18 states of India through a network of partner NGOs and government bodies. Wheelchairs are at our heart - but not just any wheelchair - it is the  right wheelchair , fitted to meet an individual’s particular needs and robust enough to withstand the environment lived in, enabling lives to be transformed. Motivation India also provides training and practical support to ensure that the individuals we work with, develop the confidence, self-esteem, and skills to use their wheelchairs as well as gain the knowledge to stay healthy and understand their rights. At the same time, Motivation India helps break down barriers facing persons with disabilities and their families by working with communities to tackle stigma and promote inclusion. In this way we help children to go to school and adults with employment and livelihood opportunities, thereby empowering them to unleash their potential to the fullest.
