The Dr. Anjali Morris Education and Health Foundation (AMF) is a registered charity committed to assisting students with Specific Learning Disabilitie Read mores (SLDs) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). AMF initiated this effort ten years before the Government's acknowledgement in the RPWD Act of 2016. Its primary focus lies in equipping students with skills for academic success, both individually and in groups. Additionally, it educates and supports parents, trains teachers in early identification and interventions, helps schools replicate its programmes, and enhances community awareness about SLDs. AMF offers assessments and remedial educational assistance in both English and Marathi languages. Since its inception in 2008, AMF has positively impacted over 8,000 students and trained 54,000 teachers. Its services are extended to children with SLDs and ADHD across multiple centres and partner schools. The Foundation prioritizes professional development programmes for teachers to deepen their understanding of SLDs and implement effective classroom strategies. Moreover, AMF assists schools in establishing Resource Centres and conducts evidence-based assessments to facilitate outcome-driven interventions.

Programs

  • Programme for Schools

    District

AMF facilitates the implementation of the Technically Assisted Program (TAP) in selected schools and educational organisations. A core team of teachers undergoes training to screen students for learning disabilities, conduct evidence-based assessments, provide outcomes-based interventions individually or in small groups, and monitor progress. The foundation offers intensive supervision and mentoring to this core team for three to five years, enabling schools to eventually operate their Resource Centres autonomously. Additionally, at partner schools, AMF teachers deliver evidence-based interventions to students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs) while closely monitoring their progress.

  • Programme for Students

    District

When students encounter challenges in reading, writing, or mathematics, their enthusiasm for learning may diminish. Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs) can lead to difficulties in regular classrooms, stemming from issues such as delayed language development, poor reading and writing skills, or struggles with mathematics. Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may face additional challenges due to distracting behaviour and attention issues. The approach involves identifying individual struggles and utilizing strengths to teach necessary skills and strategies, fostering a cycle of success for students with SLDs and/or ADHD.

  • Technically Assisted Programme(TAP)

    District

Through the Technically Assisted Programme (TAP), it assists schools and educational organisations in setting up Resource Centres to support students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLDs). The Resource Library provides information on service professionals, institutions, Learning Disabilities, and educational videos. The Teacher Education Workshop equips school teachers with strategies to support students with SLDs, while the Skills Enhancement Programme educates professionals on identifying and intervening with evidence-based strategies. The Technically Assisted Program involves a three to five-year partnership, training school teams to conduct assessments and interventions.

  • Programme for Parents

    District

In workshops led by experienced Resource Teachers, parents gain insights into learning difficulties, such as handwriting, spelling, reading, and math, through theory, case studies, and practical demonstrations. Parent participation in discussions and role-play enhances their understanding of their children's challenges and equips them with strategies to support learning. As the first accredited Global Partner of the International Dyslexia Association in India, AMF offers programs like the Skills Enhancement Program (SEP) for parents, the Nischay Parent Support Group, and the Community Awareness Program to foster a supportive environment, share expertise, and raise awareness about learning disabilities and ADHD.
