    2007

VConnect Foundation is a non-profit parent support group offering assistance and guidance to parents of hearing-impaired children. We conduct several Read moreworkshops throughout the year which attracts a lot of parents whose children are hearing impaired.

Programs

  • Education

    Works to integrate hearing-impaired children into mainstream schools. Published a "Mainstream Guide" in Gujarati, Hindi, English, and Marathi. This handbook can be downloaded from the Resources area for free. This handbook is intended for parents, mainstream teachers, and audiologists who work with children who have hearing loss.

    Periodically, several workshops are held centred around the four main modules of the guide:
    The Best Use of Technology for Online Classes/Hearing
    Technology and Support for Online Classes;
    How We Hear;
    Getting Ready and Equipped for Mainstream;
    Guidelines and Teaching Advice.

    VConnect provides corporations and educational institutions with specially designed workshops.

  • Mental Health

    This program focuses on the mental health of caregivers and children.

    For the Mental Health program, VConnect has forged a solid alliance with the Ummeed Child Development Center and Raviraj Shetty, the co-founder of Narrative Practices India and an occupational therapist. There are two parts to VConnect's Mental Health program: Teenage Support and Parent Peer Support.

  • Knowledge Hub

    Provides knowledge to professionals and caregivers for the child's overall growth.

    Knowledge and information are given on a wide range of topics that are significant to professionals and caregivers, assisting them in taking the required actions for their children's holistic development.

    Various subject area experts are invited to speak to parents as part of the VIDYA SERIES, offering strategies and insights that support their children's holistic development. A variety of subjects, abilities, and information are covered, including maternal health, genetic counselling, hearing health, the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and BAHA, listening and spoken language (Auditory Verbal Therapy), and how to develop literacy skills. The meetings take place on the fourth Saturday of each month.

    The Resources section contains the YouTube links for the previously held sessions.
