Karunyavarsham Charitable Trust began its journey in 2011 with a simple yet impactful mission: to provide free meals to patients and their caregivers Read moreat the Government Medical College Hospital in Ernakulam. This initiative was born out of a realization that many individuals were going hungry due to the lack of nearby food facilities. By serving meals on Sundays, the Trust soon expanded its efforts and officially registered as a charitable organisation in 2013. Since its inception, the Trust has received support from numerous generous donors, enabling it to serve over 400 meals daily to patients and their families, year-round. With sufficient funding, the Trust aims to provide two meals daily, further extending its reach and impact within the community.

  • Free Food to Patients Programme : Palliative Home Based Cancer Care

    The programme initiated in April 2011 with the provision of free meals to 200 Patients daily at the Government Hospital in Kalamassery has since expanded significantly. With have established a kitchen on hospital premises itself to serve free fresh hygienic food to the patients. The project was continued since 2022 and we could able to serve more than 848810 free meals to the needy patients. The project was temporarily stopped due to the construction of new hospital block and planning to restart shortly once the work is completed. The programme is widely appreciated by District administration and proven invaluable to patients referred from distant locations, ensuring access to nutritious meals vital for recovery and sustenance.

  • Integrated Home Care Programme for Cancer Patients – CAN-SAHAI

    Palliative Home Based Cancer Care-operating since 2018, offers Integrated Home Care services to Cancer Patients in Ernakulam, collaborating with Government Hospitals, Ernakulam and Aluva, Kerala. Initially partnered with Cochin Cancer Research Centre until 2021, and later extended to 1 Municipal Corporation , 5 Municipalities and 10 Grama Panchayat In Ernakulam District Kerala , covering an population of 32,00,000. Trained staff nurses, volunteers, and doctors conduct periodic Home visits to offer nursing care, medical assistance, such as Vitals checking—Blood Pressure, Blood sugar, Pulse, Oxygen level, Dressing of long pending uncured wound/surgical wound slough cutting, colostomy care, Lymphedema care, bandaging, exercise, Tracheostomy care, PRE, Finger evacuation, enema, high enema, Medicine care, S/C injection, I/V fluid, I/V injection, Ascites tapping, catheterization, bladder wash, mouth care, sponge batch, PEG tube feeding, Ryles tube feeding, back care, Chemotherapy Medicines, Pain Management etc. Other than Medicines we also provide patient comfort devices as per the patients requirement.
