Started with a team of 5 friends, Vrikshit Foundation is slowly becoming a household name for climate enthusiasts. Started in the year 2019, the found Read moreation has now spread across 14 states of India and cleaned over a million kilograms of trash. Our major aim is to have a cleaner environment and work towards climate change. Through our most motivated volunteers, we organise clean up drives, campaigns, tree plantations, and wall paintings. Vision - To create a more breathable and cleaner surrounding so as to increase sustainability and work towards United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals 3,13,14 and 15. To breed a more responsible and nature savvy generation. Mission - Organize clean-up drives, plant trees, paint walls and make dirty places aesthetic so as to not invite more dirt or trash. Organize campaigns to teach people about the importance and urgency of climate action.


Action

The foundation organizes cleanliness drives, transforms dump yards into community spaces, plants trees, conducts awareness campaigns, and engages in waste management and recycling efforts across multiple cities in India.

Impact

Vrikshit Foundation has collected over 8.5 million kg of waste, recycled 3.8 million kg, planted over 21,000 trees, positively impacted over 500,000 people, and transformed over 430 sites.

    Through the collection of 8 million kilograms of waste, the organisation has converted three dumping yards into parks and transformed two dumping yards into libraries. In total, 430 locations have been revitalized and transformed.

The foundation has expanded to 32 cities, mobilized over 8,000 volunteers, been recognized by three Chief Ministers, and become a brand ambassador for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
