Recognised as a 'Centre of Excellence,' Sahayog actively engages in people-centric healthcare practices, advocacy for policy reforms, research, documentation, and dissemination of knowledge. Collaborating with various entities including Government bodies, NGOs, both national and international agencies, as well as public and private sectors, Sahayog strives to influence and enhance different aspects of ordinary people's lives. It works alongside governmental initiatives to amplify its impact on the health, education, livelihoods, and overall progress of communities.

Impact

Sahayog has made a substantial impact, aiding 3,000 individuals in combating TB, supporting 2,800 in maternal and child health, championing child rights and education for 2,574, and swiftly responding to 18 emergencies.

    Under the ongoing TB Programme, Sahayog is actively addressing the global health challenge of tuberculosis, particularly drug-resistant TB, in the State of Odisha. The TB Patient Support Initiatives (TPSI) focus on constructive communication and high-quality TB prevention and control support. Sahayog's interventions include reaching needy DR-TB patients with monthly family nutrition packages, ensuring proper treatment, facilitating follow-ups, providing education and counselling, advocating for uninterrupted drug supply, and conducting sensitization and advocacy efforts to combat TB stigma and promote awareness.

Focused on maternal and child health promotion, the organisation addresses socioeconomic determinants affecting vulnerable communities in Odisha.     In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sahayog has been actively engaged in addressing the profound economic challenges faced by marginalized groups, informal workers, and individuals with chronic illnesses like Tuberculosis. Through collaboration with various organisations and individual philanthropists, it provided immediate relief to 2000 families, supplying essential items such as food, masks, sanitisers, medicines, and unconditional cash. During the cyclones FANI in 2019 and Phailin in 2013, it swiftly responded by distributing relief materials, organising health checkup camps, and providing essential support to affected communities.
