Founded by Sonia Singh in 2004, AsthaKiran has a comprehensive development approach to educate and empower girls. The Foundation is based in Lucknow D Read moreistrict of U.P. and has been relentlessly working towards the welfare of underprivileged children. Over the years, AsthaKiran has evolved with different initiatives on girls education and has been dedicated itself in building their capacities. So far, Astha Kiran has supported 6000 children directly by connecting them to free and sustained education under “Nai Roshni” and “Support a child” programme while the indirectly it has supported children in the field of Education, Sports, Arts and Crafts, Health, Sports & Drama Society. Looking at the needs of the society, we have also expanded our curriculum to not only K-8 but to Life Skill education, Sexual and Reproductive health and Rights and most importantly a journey from self to society.

  • Girls Education Programme

    Astha Kiran Shaikshik Evam Samajik Vikas Sansthan is actively involved in promoting girls' education through various initiatives. One notable project is the Nai Roshini Girls School, initiated by Ms. Sonia in 2014 in Dubagga, Lucknow, catering to underprivileged girls. Starting with 35 students, it has grown to accommodate over 250 girls, providing free education along with essentials like uniforms, stationery, bags, and even transportation.

    In addition to the school, the organisation launched the Aryan Computer Education program in 2018. This programme aims to equip girls with computer skills, ranging from basic to advanced knowledge. Notably, Astha Kiran extends its impact beyond its immediate reach by conducting campaigns to educate girls from outside the organisation. Through these efforts, it strives to bridge the educational gap and empower girls with valuable computer education.

  • Women Empowerment Programme

    Astha Kiran Shaikshik Evam Samajik Vikas Sansthan actively engages in women empowerment through its dedicated initiatives. The Nai Roshini Sanitary Pad project focuses on menstrual health and hygiene by manufacturing low-cost sanitary napkins. The organization ensures the use of high-quality materials, making these products accessible to the most vulnerable communities. Additionally, in response to the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, Astha Kiran introduced the Prisha Masale initiative. This effort not only addresses the economic impact of job losses but also empowers women to become self-reliant. The organization has launched 100% pure, homemade spices such as coriander, gram masala, and more, providing employment opportunities for women during these challenging times. Through these ventures, Astha Kiran contributes significantly to the economic and social empowerment of women in need.

  • Programme for Children & Women

    Astha Kiran Shaikshik Evam Samajik Vikas Sansthan empowers children and women through diverse activities. It promotes livelihoods, implements schemes like PMKVY and STAR, and identifies skill training priorities. Focusing on sectors like auto, healthcare, and IT-ITeS, it provides a qualified workforce for the handicraft sector. The organization trains SC youth and women, offers vocational training to ST youth, and educates potential entrepreneurs. Astha Kiran fosters entrepreneurship, imparts soft skills, spoken English, and financial literacy, and facilitates job fairs. Contributing to SDGs 1, 4, and 8, it addresses poverty, promotes quality education, and supports decent work and economic growth.
