The Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) is a non-profit organisation based in New Delhi, established in 2000. It aims to tackle the challenge of Read more chronic diseases in developing countries. Its activities include generating knowledge to shape policies and programmes for preventing and managing chronic diseases. CCDC also focuses on translating research findings into action by bridging gaps between research and implementation through analysis, capacity building, advocacy, and educational resources. CCDC conducts clinical research, particularly on chronic non-communicable diseases like cardiology, diabetes, vascular diseases, cancers, and mental health. It also engages in basic science research on diet/nutrition and cardiac biochemistry. The organisation has made significant contributions to understanding the epidemiology, developmental origins, and biomarkers of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes in India. Additionally, it has developed low-cost combination drugs for preventing cardiovascular diseases in South Asia. CCDC is recognised as a Centre of Excellence in Clinical Research and a WHO Collaborating Centre for Cardio-Metabolic Diseases.
