    Gautam Buddha Jagriti Society, a non-profit organisation established in 1993 in Siddharth Nagar, focuses on bringing sustainable relief to the suffering and underprivileged communities in Northern India, particularly in UP, Jharkhand, Bihar & Uttarakhand. Inspired by the teachings of Lord Gautam Buddha, the society promotes nation-building and strives for an egalitarian society, free from poverty and discrimination based on religion, caste, creed, or gender. Registered formally in 1996 under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860, it has directly impacted nearly 1 million families through diverse program interventions aimed at alleviating the plight of the most vulnerable sections of society.

Impact

For nearly three decades, Gautam Buddha Jagriti Society (GBJS) has been empowering vulnerable communities across Uttar Pradesh through integrated development and humanitarian action. GBJS has strengthened the lives of women through self-help groups, skill development, entrepreneurship, leadership training, and livelihood opportunities. The organization has improved access to healthcare, nutrition, WASH services, and awareness programs for thousands of families. Special initiatives support elderly people facing neglect and isolation, ensuring dignity, care, and social inclusion. GBJS has promoted climate-resilient and natural farming practices, benefiting thousands of farmers and enhancing food security. Through disaster preparedness, emergency relief, humanitarian response, and community resilience programs, GBJS has enabled vulnerable populations to better withstand and recover from floods, heatwaves, and other crises, creating sustainable and inclusive development outcomes.

The vision is to create a society free from disparity and all kinds of discrimination with equity and social justice, while the mission is to generate a community of scholars who can manage continuity and change, and incorporate best practices in teaching and learning.
