About

With the blessings of MaaTripurasundari and the guidance of Shri Nandkishore Sharda, Kumari Basanti Manihar founded Swami Vivekanand Students Welfare Read more Charitable Trust on 10th June 1996. Shri Nandkishore Sharda was the first president of the Trust. Since 2003 Maa Basanti Manihar is the president of this trust. The main guiding principles of the Trust are: 1. No girl wishing to study should be deprived of education for want of money irrespective of her marks, religion, caste, etc. 2. The financial support is exclusively need-based. 3. Administrative expenses are kept as low as possible. They are voluntarily borne by the trustees. Accounts of all the trusts are annually audited and Income Tax exemption under Article 80G has been obtained. 4. Not only trust impart financial support for education but also act as a catalyst for their overall personality development so that they can make a place of pride in society. 5. Education sans morality and ‘sanskar’ is dangerous. Therefore, they should be taught their duties along with their rights so that they can be responsible citizens and contribute to the development of the country. This is done by the trust. Since its inception, this trust has distributed 2.8+ crores worth of scholarship among 28k+ students.

The Trust provides financial assistance for education to underprivileged girls from 9th grade through college by using interest from fixed deposit bank accounts created by donors.
