PRERANA FOUNDATION ACTIVITIES Introduction: Prerana Rural Development Foundation is a Non-Government Organization. It is working in Walwa block d Read moreistrict Sangli since 2012. The focus area of the Prerana Rural Development Foundation is Education, Health, Livelihood, Agriculture, Disaster Management, Women and child development, Strengthening of Self-Help Group, Skill Development, and Environment protection. Walwa block is a flood-affected area whose main crop is sugar cane, thousands of families migrated to this area for sugarcane cutting purposes, near about four sugar factories located in this block. In Walwa block have a seasonal migration and permanent migration. Objectives: - 1. To make overall development of the Permanent and seasonal migrants, disabled single women, children, old age people. 2. Make aware community for reduce use of chemical fertilizers, conservation of organic farming and maintain biodiversity, Due to use of huge amount of water and chemical fertilizers its impact on hazardous to the soil, human, animal Vision: - 1. Making community sustainable through creating sense of ownership with long lasting community intervention. Mission: - · To make people discover their potential for action and change · To enable peoples’ collectives and movements encompassing diverse segments · To empower individuals, families, communities and society with intervention skills to improve their productivity. Great Saints: - Prerana Foundation has always followed the road map told by great saints and great leaders. Our organization have given first priority to the thoughts of our Indian social reformers and social leaders. As part of the process, Prerana Rural Development Foundation celebrates the birth anniversaries and death anniversaries of all leaders. In that, we make the community aware of the road map told by all social reformers and great saints. We discuss with community members regarding thoughts of social reformers and their work in society. We celebrate the anniversaries of the following Saints… 1. Jijau mata 2. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj 3. Mahatma Jyotirao Phule 4. Savitribai Phule 5. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj 6. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar 7. Swami Vivekanand 8. All other social reformers and independent leaders Prerana Foundation has made impactful work in the 2019 flood situation at Palus and Walwa Block, the district of Sangli and Shirol block Kolhapur. Our valuable work activities: 1 . Our Founder secretary Mr Sachin Yadav has nominated a national trainer for National rural development and Panchayat Raj Systems. 2. Prerana Foundation has worked with several gram panchayats of Sangli, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts for working on women & child empowerment, general health and education, youth empowerment, farmer empowerment through livelihood programs, skill development training and awareness workshops. 3. Our organization worked with GoM Forest Dept, Sangli, National Biodiversity Board Nagpur, ZP Sangli, Walwa Panchayat samitee and 74 villages of Walwa Block for Peoples Biodiversity Register- A detailed report on the environment, natural assets and climate change. 4. Distribution of school kits, and puzzle games to more than 5000 students. 5. distribution of family kits to more than 2200 community people. 6 . We have distributed different types of material for schools and anganwadis. 7. We have supported and distributed a dry ration kit to flood-affected people in Sangli and Kolhapur districts of Maharashtra. 8. continuously working for women empowerment. 9 . Work with ZP Sindhudurg for preparation of outline DPR of Sewage and Solid Waste Management Ø Financial Literacy Awareness by Prerana Foundation and SEBI: - Prerana Rural Development Foundation and SEBI awareness workshop have become milestone activities for 1450 rural women with 52 workshops/programs in Walwa Block, these rural women are unaware of the banking sector, day to day life economics, and safety of money. These rural women are trapped in their life cycle of continuous work day and night. Even they were not free enough to take little breaths. This workshop gave them a new opportunity for understanding things outside of their lifestyle and these rural women could understand banks. We deeply discussed the following points with them... 1. Importance of banking sector: We have discussed in detail about importance of banking sector, being cash in hand and being cash in bank that which is safer, how banking sector helps Indian economy for sustainable growth. We can trust on banking sector for our economic activities because there is different legal framework is working on. All banking sector is systematic functioned by Reserve Bank of India. 2. Importance of Nationalized Banks: - We have discussed in detail about types of banks, as like Private Banks, Credit societies, Cooperative banks and nationalized banks. We have informed women about importance of nationalized banks. It is much more important to keep our money in only nationalized banks because it is safer with government security. Other types of all banks can be collapse but nationalized bank is much safer. We guided to women for keep their money only in nationalized bank. 3. Information regarding Govt scheme: - We have discussed with rural women regarding Government schemes, which are described below in detail… Ø Pradhanmantri Suraksha Vima Yojana – Ø Pradhanmantri Jeevan Jyoti Vima Yojana – Ø Ayushyaman Bharat Yojana – Ø Sukanya Samarudhhi Yojana – Ø Atal Pension Yojana – Ø Shramyogi Mandhan Yojana - 4. Types of bank accounts: - We have discussed in detail regarding types of bank account. We informed women about Saving account, Current account, Recurring deposit account, Fixed Deposit. How these different accounts functions and their importance. We have guided them for prime minister Jandhan scheme and opening saving account at nearest nationalized bank. Ø Activities carried out with International Organisations · 60 borewell and open well cleaned, chlorinated and painted at Palus and Walawa block by Prerana Rural Development Foundation and SEEDS. · 20 borewells reconstructed and repaired by Prerana Rural Development Foundation and Care India and MPSSM at 5 villages. · 2000 Dry ration kit distributed by Prerana Foundation, Care India and MPSSM at 5 villages at Palus block Sangli and 15 villages at Shirol Kolhapur. · 7000 days Cash for work activity arranged by Prerana Rural Development Foundation , Care India and MPSSM at Palus and Shirol, So, people could be sustained in a flood situation. · 850 hygiene kit distributed by Prerana Rural Development Foundation and SEEDS at flood-affected areas of Sangli and Kolhapur. · 5 Community centers repaired by Prerana Foundation, Care India and MPSSM which are damaged due to heavy flood situation. · 14 Anganwadis and 1 ZP school refurbishment at Palus block. · 1500 school kits and distributed by Prerana Foundation and Seva Sahayog. · School kit, sport kit, institution kit, my pads distributed by Prerana Foundation and Goonj. Prerana Rural Development Foundation has made impactful work during COVID 19 situation. Our team was aware and stand by for the distribution of dry ration kit during the strict lockdown.
