The programme is designed to help them become more receptive to hearing and speech, as well as to allow them to attend regular schools and learn alongside regular students. Parents are also encouraged to participate in all activities with their children. This is the only centre in the area without backing from the government. Additionally, in 2012, the Maharashtra government's commissioner of persons with disabilities granted permission to establish an unaided special primary (aural oral) non-residential school for late-joining hearing-impaired children based on the request and support of their parents.
