Way back in 1999, Mr.Mohammed Rafi started caring for the roadside wandering mentally ill, finding it difficult to accommodate them as the numbers started growing. He established Anbagam Rehabilitation Centre at Thirunilai, near Redhills with the support of Chennai Silks, to provide systematic & scientific treatement, theropy and rehabilitation for the under privileged in 2002. Now with facilities located in Thirunilai, Thondiarpet and Otteri, Anbagam Staff is ensuring services to around 300 men and women. So far, Anbagam have rescued more than 3500 people affected with mental illness and have reunited 3000 people with their family members across India.
